should, shouldn't is a study in the nervous energy and indecisiveness that we inhabit as humans. Right up through evolution, we have been trained in fight or flight mode, and now in our modern age, this philosophy still applies, but much more broadly. Almost every decision we make as humans is born out of contemplation of acting upon it. Just in the same way our evolutionary predecessors were trying to fight and catch prey, we worry about sending risky texts, or other 21st century problems. This piece is cast in four continuous micro-movements which follows our protagonist constantly changing his mind, before finally deciding not to act upon what he was intending, and being forced to come to terms with that.
