Katharos

Katharos (kath-ar-os') adj. 

Definition: clean, pure 

This piece is dedicated to my dear mother, Katherine. One of the kindest, cleanest and most pure people I know. This piece came from a time in my life where I had been feeling lost, aimless, and unsure of my purpose. While I chalk most of this now up to being a hormonal teenager and getting dumped, at the time these feelings felt very real. To help, I did the one thing I always have known is a part of my purpose, music. Originally written for string orchestra, I have since expanded the piece for full orchestra. When you play this piece, I encourage you to think of someone you consider "Katharos."
