Ethan Gough* (he/him/his) is a Canadian bassist, composer, and producer based in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Raised in a very musical home, Ethan came to music at a young age, constantly found at the piano, or tapping out rhythms. Known for writing and producing popular music, Ethan has taken an interest in classical and jazz music. He studies composition under Jack Etchegary. Ethan plays in his school band, CALOS Youth Orchestra and the Memorial University Wind Ensemble. He is also a member of the Spear Jazz Collective. Ethan is a recipient of both a 2024 and 2025 Government of NL Arts & Letters award. When not composing or playing, Ethan enjoys some of his other hobbies, including photography, biking, and cooking.
